Wasn't expecting that - what a blinder.
I'd been in touch with PaulP and Krafty about what the wind was doing
locally and I was expecting offshore, big sails and gust. However, on
pitching up at Pevensey at about 2.30, I found Krafty changing down to his
5.8 and the sun was out, the sea looked flat and it looked like a real
bonus session. Direction was cross off, but at times cross shore. So I
quickly rigged the 100lt and 5.7 and glugged out about 100 yards and then
was maxed out for most of the time. The ramps were perfect and by the end I
actually felt I was getting the hang of port tack jumping (at last).
Nothing too high, but much more in control than usual. There were no waves,
but I didn't care, it was fantastic bump and jump sailing. There were a few
holes appearing by the end, but I'm not going to complain about 2.5 hours
sailing in a summer suit with short arms in mid-October.
